Aperture Arc
An aperture is the lens opening that controls light and focus, shaping the image that comes into view.
The arc is the path from that clarity to sharper positioning, a presence that reflects it, and practical systems that keep both consistent.
Aperture Arc is about seeing the bigger picture, crystallizing what matters about your brand and strategy, and creating a clear path forward.
I work with small and midsize professional services firms that are strong at what they do but whose marketing, messaging, or business-generation systems may not reflect the quality of their work. Not a traditional branding agency, advertising shop, or abstract strategy firm — I offer practical marketing and positioning support for businesses that need strategic clarity, calibrated identity, and the structure to support it, without building a full in-house marketing department.

Heidi Andrew
Strategic Advisor
For over 25 years, I have led marketing and business development at both AmLaw and boutique law firms, turning strong legal work into strong market position.
The bulk of my experience has been in-house at top AmLaw firms, building business development functions from the ground up, centralized planning and the infrastructure behind it.
My work has included implementing centralized pitch process that pushed win rates past 40%, realigning CRM with proprietary systems and administrative discipline to bring real-time visibility to partner activity and relationships, and training lawyers and in-house staff on business development and client service. I also worked alongside KM, IT, and practice management to develop and launch a full-scale proprietary matter tracking system, making matter data and experience easily accessible throughout the firm.
The same discipline runs through my work with boutique and specialized firms: sharper positioning, elevated professional materials, and impactful systems to support real growth. My work has included launching cross-practice industry groups - helping firms compete on focus rather than size, implementing client service initiatives, business development training programs, and go-to-market strategies.
Throughout my career, I have led branding, media relations, and public relations for the firms I've represented — shaping how they present themselves publicly, managing press opportunities, and overseeing rebranding and website initiatives to ensure a firm's public image matches the quality of its work. That same visibility work extends to directory submissions, industry awards, speaking engagements, and thought leadership programs, securing elevated Chambers and Legal 500 rankings and industry award wins.
I start by identifying what genuinely makes a practice different, then translate it into sharper positioning, stronger materials, and messaging that reflects real value. I work directly with individual partners on growth strategy — target clients, personal positioning, and multi-year plans to build their practice. AI is becoming part of how firms operate, and I help partners think through where it strengthens the business and where it still requires judgment and oversight.
